Linear friction machines

The E100, the world’s first commercially-available linear friction welding machine, is designed to weld a diverse range of parts from rings and blades to fans or square metal contactors.

It has already set a new record for the largest-ever linear weld by joining a 10,000mm2 titanium component, exceeding the previous milestone of around 5,500mm2.

The E100’s hydraulic oscillation system allows the machine to stop with three oscillation cycles and within 0.013mm accuracy respective to the mating part. The machine’s unique control software produces data every 10 nano seconds and can be stored, along with high-speed camera footage, for every weld produced.

The software also ensures the machine can be controlled remotely and all machine diagnostics and alarms are easily transmitted
